Blur Your Background on Google Meet

Google has introduced a nifty feature on Meet, where you can blur or change your background!Video conferencing is becoming ever more critical in people’s work and personal lives. Improving that experience with privacy enhancements or fun visual touches can help you focus on the meeting itself. As part of this goal, Google recently announced ways to blur and replace your background in Google Meet.

Before a video call 

  1. Go to Google Meet select a meeting
  2. On the bottom right of your self view, click Change Background
    1. To completely blur your background, click Blur your background
    2. To slightly blur your background, click Slightly blur your background
    3. To select a pre-uploaded background, click a background
    4. To upload your own image for your background, click Add
  3. Click Join Now. 

During a video call 

  1. On the bottom right, click More
  2. Click Change background
    1. To completely blur your background, click Blur your background
    2. To slightly blur your background, click Slightly blur your background
    3. To select a pre-uploaded background, click a background
    4. To upload your own image for your background, click Add

Tip: Your camera is automatically turned on when you click Change background.
